Ashli Budnik is an Orlando-based stop motion artist who specializes in fabrication. She has experience fabricating stop motion puppets utilizing a mixture of modern and vintage fabrication styles. Ashli’s main inspiration comes from stop motion animation, but more specifically the films of Rankin and Bass, as well as Laika studios. She has always had a passion for art and attended the Creadle School for Art in Winter Park, Florida for over ten years. In her high school animation course, she was introduced to art of stop motion fabrication. This animation course reignited her love for stop motion and allowed her to learn more about animation.

Ashli graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BFA in Emerging Media - Experimental Animation in May 2025. During her time at UCF, she has developed a diverse portfolio of work including concept art, 2D animation, 3D animation and of course, stop motion animation. Her work has been exhibited in the UCF’s Art Knight in Fall 2024 and UCF Celebrates the Arts in Spring 2021. Her thesis film, Foraged, will be showcased in the Kaleidoscope Exhibition at the UCF Art Gallery and UCF Celebrates the Arts in Spring 2025. Ashli plans to pursue a career as a stop motion fabricator in the film industry or a scenic fabricator in the themed entertainment industry.
